The time commitment required by our all-volunteer staff to keep the site running was simply too much. Everybody on the staff is also a writer, and we found that there was no longer any time to commit to our own work, consequently we have decided to end Shortfictionworld.com as a webzine. We may recreate the site as an online writer's group, a short fiction review site, or master links list to other shortfiction related sites on the web, but that will be decided in the future.

We thank those of you that read the stories we published in our short production run. We also send our thanks to the many, many writers who submitted stories. We received a great many good stories, and our biggest regret is that we simply didn't have the time to work with the authors and publish more of them.
